BHUC Nurse Supervisor

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Nurse Supervisor RN is responsible for providing nursing care and clinical assessments for individuals served at the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) center. This position includes supervision of Nurses, Medical Office Assistants, Behavioral Health Technicians, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The Nurse Supervisor position also includes collaboration with prescribers, and support of crisis stabilization efforts. The Nurse Supervisor ensures timely medical assessments, medication coordination, and adherence to Medicaid and BHUC standards for trauma-informed care.

WORK DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • 40% - Conduct nursing assessments and monitor clients' physical status upon arrival
  • 25% - Supervise and support Nurses, Behavioral Health Techs, CNAs and Medical Office Assistant staff in the execution of delegated tasks
  • 15% - Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with Medicaid standards
  • 10% - Consult with prescribers on medication needs and medical conditions
  • 5% - Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and infection control standards
  • 5% - Administer or coordinate medication delivery, including MAT under prescriber guidance

Must also be able to Perform or Provide:

  • Nursing assessment and clinical judgment
  • Team supervision, scheduling and communication
  • Behavioral health crisis response
  • Medication administration and safety
  • Documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of North Carolina.
  • At least 1 year of experience in psychiatric, emergency, or urgent care nursing.
  • Experience supervising or delegating to other Nurses, BHTs, MOAs, and CNAs preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health crises, substance use disorders, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Must be able to pass a background, MVR, and sexual offender check.
  • No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to keep strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations
