GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Mobile Crisis Worker Team Lead is responsible for providing integrated crisis response, crisis stabilization, intervention, and prevention services. This role involves immediate evaluation, triage, and access to acute mental health, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use services to reduce symptoms, mitigate harm, and facilitate safe transitions to appropriate stabilization or detoxification supports.
The Team Lead also provides immediate telehealth/telephonic crisis assessments to determine risk, mental status, medical stability, and the appropriate level of response. In addition, the Team Lead assists the Mobile Crisis Services Leadership Team-including the Supervisor, Director, and Clinicians-with designated administrative and supervisory duties.
WORK DUTIES AND TASKS
Administrative and Supervisory Responsibilities
Complete task logs as required
Collaborate with the Director, Supervisor, and Clinicians to ensure timely completion of monthly Quality Assurance (QA) reviews and monthly reports
Monitor and review the electronic health records (EHR) of individuals served to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency and insurance standards
Maintain Integrated Family Services (IFS) vehicles by completing the monthly vehicle checklist
Assist with the training and onboarding of new staff both within and outside of the assigned team, in collaboration with the Training Position
Fulfill the Crisis Services Supervisor role during times of their absence
Complete all assigned administrative requirements in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure compliance with uniform documentation and charting guidelines, as well as all clinical policies and operating procedures.
Crisis Response and Intervention
Provide immediate assessment of individuals experiencing mental health, developmental disability, and/or substance use crises
Identify and engage appropriate natural supports or community resources to stabilize the crisis
Ensure the safety of the individual served, their family members, and the community during all interventions
Network with community agencies to ensure coordinated and effective care across the service delivery continuum
Cover other shifts within the assigned team, as needed, to ensure service continuity
Community and Educational Engagement
Attend monthly meetings for the assigned region
Assist with educational and outreach activities during and outside of normal business hours to promote community awareness and crisis prevention
Attend staff meetings, clinical team meetings, and trainings/events as assigned
Participate in all IFS-assigned leadership trainings
Complete continuing education per licensing requirements and as relevant to job duties
Complete a minimum of 2 hours of cultural competency continuing education per year
Maintain annual adult CPR, First Aid, and CPI certification
Complete required competencies as outlined by the Human Resource Department for all staff
Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE:
Fulltime: 40 hours plus per week. Fulltime Mobile Crisis Workers may also be required to work On-Call hours at least one week or two weekends per month. The Mobile Crisis Workers may also be required to work On-Call hours at least one week or two weekends per month. The Mobile Crisis Worker may be required to cover shifts other than their regular assigned work shift if services and extenuating circumstances deem necessary.
Shifts: 1st shift, 7am - 4pm 2nd shift, 11am -8pm 3rd shift, 1pm -10pm
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of one year's experience in providing crisis intervention services in the following settings: assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department, or other services providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations AND twenty (20) hours of training in appropriate crisis intervention strategies within the first 90 days of employment.
No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR and Healthcare Registry check.
Must be able to keep strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
PP - (Paraprofessional)
Individual is twenty-one years of age or older and has received a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Upon hiring, an individualized supervision plan will be developed and supervision shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served.
AP - (Associate Professional)
Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in a human service field with less than one year of full-time , post-graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional with less than one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling. Supervision plan will be put in place and shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served until the individual meets one year of experience. The supervisor and the employee shall develop an individualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually; or
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor' s degree in a human service field with less than two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional with less than two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling. Supervision plan will be put in place and shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served until the individual meets two years of experience. The supervisor and the employee shall develop an individualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually; or
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services with less than four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional with less than four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling. Supervision plan will be put in place and shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served until the individual meetsfouryearsofexperience.Thesupervisorandtheemployeeshalldevelopanindividualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually; or
Registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing with less than four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served. Supervision plan will be put in place and shall be provided by a qualified professional with the population served until the individual meets four years of experience. The supervisor and the employee shall develop an individualized supervision plan upon hiring. The parties shall review the plan annually.
QP - (Qualified Professional)
An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; or
A graduate of a college or university with a Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service-related field and has two years of full time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.
