GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
MORES is a team-based crisis intervention for children and adolescents ages 3 to 21 years experiencing escalating emotional and/or behavioral needs. MORES provides up to eight weeks of follow-up services for individuals who have experienced a behavioral health crisis. The goal of the MORES program is to stabilize the present concern, empower and educate families to monitor, manage and cope with similar situations in the future, establish and build resiliency skills and strengthen the natural support systems of youth and families.
The MORES QP responds to crisis referrals and follows up with the individual and family for up to 8 weeks. Response and follow up may be in a residential or community setting based on the individual and family preferences. Care may include clinical assessments, referrals to psychiatrist and/or higher-level care, coping strategies, goal setting, resiliency conversation and training, supporting social determinants of health, building natural supports, developing parenting skills, attending Family Team Meetings and coaching. The QP must work closely with the rest of the MORES team to identify the strengths and needs of the family, always ensuring the family voice and choice is respected.
WORK DUTIES AND TASKS:
Job Duties:
Contact families within the designated timeframe to offer the MORES service.
Provide crisis response and/or follow up for child and family referrals. Consult with MORES Clinician and Family Support Partner as needed.
Work with the family and MORES team to assess the youth/family needs and strengths and set person centered goals and create a family care plan.
Use the NC CAT to ensure person centered and whole person realities and factors are documented.
Research and document all the community resources a youth or family might need. Build relationships in the community to ensure positive response and collaboration when needed.
Complete all required progress notes and other documentation on time.
Be familiar with HIPAA regulations and abide by them.
Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
SCHEDULE:
Full-time Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some after-hour and weekend availability as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; or
A graduate of a college or university with a Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service related field and has two years of full time, post bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full time, post bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.
A minimum of one year's experience in providing crisis management services in the following settings: assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department, or other services providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations AND twenty (20) hours of training in appropriate crisis intervention strategies within the first 90 days of employment
At least 1 year working with child/youth and adolescents (paid or volunteer, full-time or part-time)
Complete the Mobile Crisis and MORES Training curriculum within the first 90 days of employment.
Ability to work with and adjust to different and diverse beliefs, cultural tendencies, family structures and orientations.
Basic Microsoft Office suite experience and skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams platforms.
No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to keep strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak and hear. The position requires extensive computer use so the employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Travel
The employee must be able to travel regularly to the homes of families served or another community location based upon the families' preferences. Additional travel may be required for training and outreach purposes.
